Weston Favell’s community initiative raises over £30,000!

PUBLISHED ON 2nd MARCH 2018

Weston Favell shopping centre helped to raise a staggering £29,811.45 for charity in 2017 - a figure that nearly doubled the amount of their original target of £15,000. The fantastic result was achieved through Community Zone, a space in the centre that is dedicated to support local charities and community groups.

Weston Favell prides itself on being a true community hub and regularly offers support to non-profit organisations within the area of Northampton. Its Community Zone has become so popular that it is often booked up weeks in advance; and that’s exactly the way the centre likes it. From Animals in Need, through The British Legion, to well-known Help for Heroes, local community groups jump at the chance to feature their cause in the centre - and for good reason! In 2017 alone, the centre’s visitors donated just short of £30,000 in some 180 days, in which a charity collection had taken place. That is over £166 per day - a figure that will undoubtedly help to change many lives. Additional £1,099.48 was raised by Guide Dogs, situated in different location on the mall.
