The team from Weston Favell Shopping Centre has completed their impressive 100 mile mission. They walked from the London offices of RDI REIT P.L.C., owners of Weston Favell shopping centre, to the centre located just outside Northampton over 5 days to raise funds for its charity of the year Thomas’s Fund.
The team followed the route along the Grand Union Canal to Northampton before being welcomed back into Weston Favell Shopping Centre by the local community. They set off on this mission to raise money for their charity of the year.,Thomas’s Fund which helps young people with life-limiting illnesses and disabilities through music therapy.
Thomas’s Fund’s co-founder, Lucy said: “I want to take the time to sincerely thank everyone for their donations. I have to admit I am overjoyed by the amount of support we received before and during our 100 mile walk. Thomas’s Fund was set up in memory of Thomas Smith, my son. Thomas died at the age of 10 from a life-limiting neurodegenerative condition. He lived a short but fun filled life - a big part of which came through music. This charity provides music therapy for children with life limiting illnesses and/or disabilities in Northamptonshire aged 0-19. I am so thankful to Weston Favell Shopping Centre for supporting us throughout the year and venturing on this grand adventure to help us support children who need it most”.
Weston Favell’s Centre Manager, Kevin Legg, said “We are so proud to have completed our 100 mile adventure in aid of Thomas’s Fund. There is no doubt that this mission was incredibly tough, we have a few blisters and our poor legs need a holiday to recover but the effort and planning was all worthwhile, a great team effort all round. I would also like to say a very big thank you to all in the local community, friends, family, customers and local businesses who have supported us in our fundraising efforts. We could not have completed our mission without our amazing sponsors: RDI REIT P.L.C., Lexicon Fire Systems, Country Lion, Savills, Billing Finance, Zedi Signs Ltd and Trilogy Northampton, thank you”.So far Weston Favell have raised £8,079.75, so close to their £10,000 goal.
